Allpax Names Adam Pichoff Director of Software Engineering
Apr 18, 2024COVINGTON, La., March 12, 2024 — Allpax, a ProMach sterilization systems brand, promoted Adam Pichoff from Software Engineering Manager to Director of Software Engineering. Adam is responsible for training and mentoring a department of software engineers, and ensuring Allpax software meets or exceeds industry standards. This includes developing new software features and software-based products, customizing software based on customer requests and environment, and coordinating the Software Engineering Department’s activities with Allpax’ Sales, Mechanical/Electrical/Controls Engineering, and Service Departments.
Adam joined Allpax in 2013 after receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Southeastern Louisiana University, Hammond, Louisiana. “As a classically trained software engineer with a computer science background, I would be expected to work predominantly on computers and develop applications that are purely used on a computer,” he said. “But what we do at Allpax is more in the cyber-physical realm, where we are still working on a computer, but we are also controlling machinery. For me it was a match made in heaven, as I’ve always had an interest in mechanical things.” Three years after joining Allpax, Adam earned a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), Atlanta.
During his tenure at the company, Adam has overseen the multi-year development of a new suite of Allpax software, the most advanced in the company’s history. This new generation of software, which was introduced in 2023, includes retort supervisory control (AllSet™), tamper resistant data capture (AllLog™), and retort room automation machine control (AllView™). He also spearheaded the development and launch of the Allpax Digital Chart Recorder, a universal replacement for paper-based chart recorders. This digital device offers safe and secure data storage, fully compliant with the regulatory requirements of 21 CFR Part 11 for electronic record keeping. He also pioneered the company’s software and controls training program. This program has decreased the time to train new hires by at least 50%, so they can reach maximum productivity much more quickly.
“Allpax software and our ability to write custom applications makes us stand out in the crowd,” Adam said. “We are proud of our ability to customize our control system to fit any customers’ needs. The number of control system retrofits we perform on our own machines and on competing retort brands says a lot about our system’s ease of use, flexibility, and our team’s overall capabilities.”
